Police seek public help in catching Citibank robber

FOREST HILLS — The police were seeking the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect wanted in connection with the robbing of a Citibank in Forest Hills in August.

Police said the suspect entered the bank, at 107-01 71st Ave., just before noon Aug. 31 and passed the teller a note demanding money.

The suspect, described as a white man in his 30s and standing 5 feet 7 inches tall and weighing 180 pounds, made off empty-handed, the police said.

He was seen wearing a white T-shirt, shorts and sunglasses and was holding a white towel.

Anyone with information in regards to this incident is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477). The public can also submit their tips by logging onto the Crime Stoppers website at nypdcrimestoppers.com or by texting their tips to 274637 (CRIMES) then enter TIP577. All calls are strictly confidential.
