Man stole cellphone from woman on train: Police (WITH VIDEO)

JAMAICA — Police were asking for the public’s help in locating a man suspected of stealing a woman’s cell phone on an E train at the Jamaica-Van Wyck subway station Sept. 20, authorities said.

According to police, the suspect grabbed the phone from the victim, a 29-year-old woman, and fled from the train on foot. When the victim chased him down, he threatened her with a gun, police said.

The NYPD described the suspect as a black man in his 30s, 6-foot-3 in height and 215 pounds with close-cut black hair and wearing dark-colored clothing.
