Averne murder suspect apprehended in Maryland: Post

ROCKAWAY — The man wanted in connection with the fatal stabbing of a Queens schoolteacher in the Rockaways was cuffed in Maryland, according to an NBC report.Cops had been looking for Keith Howard, 63, after a tenant of his was found dead in the bathroom of his apartment on Seaspray Avenue in Arverne earlier this month, according to the report. Howard was pulled over after his license plate was flagged, NBC reported.

The New York Post reported that Howard was allegedly armed with a 9mm handgun and briefly gave chase before he was apprehended.

Karla Shah Boguwalsi, an ESL teacher at PS 43 in Far Rockaway, was found by authorities wrapped in a tarp, with seven stab wounds to her neck and trauma to her head, according to NBC.

Howard is expected to be charged after he is returned to New York, according to NBC’s report.
