Fire put out at Jewish center in Howard Beach

HOWARD BEACH — The FDNY responded to a small fire in the kitchen of the Rockwood Park Jewish Center earlier this month.

An FDNY spokesman said the fire started in the kitchen of the center, at 156-45 84th St. in Howard Beach, at 1:50 p.m. He said 12 units and 60 firefighters responded and brought the fire under control at 2:24 p.m.

There were no injuries, the FDNY said.
