Today’s news:

Koo concert to benefit Sandy victims

TimesLedger Newspapers

City Councilman Peter Koo (D-Flushing) is helping fund a concert at Flushing Town Hall to raise money for victims of Superstorm Sandy.

On Nov. 30, Queens bands Dry Clean Only and Jump for the Sails will take the stage at the historic venue, at 137-35 Northern Blvd., from 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.

The ticket price is suggested at $10, though concert-goers can always give more.

Flushing Town Hall waived the rental fees for the show, and the costs associated with putting on the charity event were covered by Koo’s office.

The proceeds from the event will go to New York Cares to assist with the relief effort.
