Police searching for missing S. Jamaica man

SOUTH JAMAICA — Police were asking for the public’s assistance in locating a 75-year-old man who has been missing since Nov. 29, according to the NYPD.

Alfonso Smith was last seen at 10 a.m. at his South Jamaica residence near the intersection of 157th Street and 110th Avenue, police said. At the time, he was wearing a gray hooded jacket, beige pants, a black baseball hat and gray sneakers, according to police, and is described as black, 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighing 200 pounds.

Those with information should contact NYPD’s Crimestoppers by calling 1-800-577-TIPS (8477), visiting its website at or texting 274637 (CRIMES) and entering TIP577.
