Police seeks public assistance in robbery (with video of suspect)

Police released surveillance video of a suspect wanted in the robbery of a woman in a Far Rockaway elevator.

FAR ROCKAWAY — The NYPD was looking for the public’s help in finding a suspect wanted for allegedly robbing a 58-year-old woman.

The suspect, described as a black male in his late 20s, pushed the woman into an elevator around 8 p.m. Dec. 4 and made off with her purse, police said.

He was seen wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt with a black leather jacket and blue jeans.

Anyone with information in regards to this robbery or the whereabouts of the suspect is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477). The public can also submit their tips by logging on to the Crime stoppers website at nypdcrimestoppers.com or by texting their tips to 274637 (CRIMES) then enter TIP577.
