Cops on the hunt for man in train robbery

FLUSHING — Police were seeking the public’s assistance in locating a suspect wanted in connection with an attempted subway robbery Dec. 11.

Cops said the suspect, a black male age 16-18 who is 5-foot-9, approached the victim on the mezzanine area of the Main Street subway station and attempted to steal his backpack.

The victim fought back and the suspect fled.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477). The public can also submit their tips by logging on to the Crime Stoppers website at nypdcrimestoppers.com or by texting their tips to 274637 (CRIMES) and entering TIP577.
