Today’s news:

Another assault gun tragedy

TimesLedger Newspapers

A devastating but too familiar horror took place at the Sandy Hook Elementary School in an idyllic Connecticut town, Newtown, Dec. 14. Twenty-six were killed: 20 children, 6 to 10 years of age, and six adults. The perpetrator was 20-year-old Adam Lanza.

On another Friday four months and six days prior — July 20 — another mass shooting occurred inside a Century movie theater in Aurora, Colo., during a midnight screening of the film “The Dark Knight Rises.

A gunman, dressed in tactical clothing, set off tear gas grenades and shot into the audience with multiple firearms, killing 12 people and injuring 58. The shooter was 24-year-old James Eagan Holmes, who was arrested outside the cinema minutes later.

The names of the killers and locations of the carnage differ, but their weapon of choice does not. It is that same old reliable semi-automatic “hunting” — read: assault — rifle, sister to the military version minus the “semi.”

Lou from Bayside says:
More sophmoric junk from Zizelis who was rightly put in his place several weeks ago after another amateurish anti gun rant. Its simple, as long as tyrants like Bloomberg are around it is necessary for citizens to have arms to counter the dictatorial tendencies of fiends like Bloomberg and others. The founding fathers, much wiser men than the panederer Zizelis foresaw future tyranny and left this protection for us. Only an imbecile like Zizelis would like to have it taken away. Its only for those guns that fiends like Bloomberg are not putting people in gulags!

John Fogal from Bayside says:
Another intelligent incisive letter from Mr. Zizelis relative to the obvious dire need for gun control followed (once again) by an idiotic rant from our dear brainless Lou. It reminds us that living in the relatively enlightened Northeast does not insolate us from the armpit of our country's mentality in some.; example: Lou. His "founding fathers" should have left this fool a musket with which to protect our country from,"dictatorial fiends like Michael Bloomberg and others". What a jerk.

Lou from Bayside says:
Lets hope fogal reminds himself about how enlightened he is when the Chicago gang led by that guy with the fake social security number from Connecticut is pushing him into a cattle car on a one way trip to the gulag!

Arlene from Philomena says:
Mr. Fogal has allowed another victem of Mr. Lou.
I think Mr. Lou has bamboozled a number of Bayside Times readers just to stir up their ire. By pretending to be an incredibly ignorant ass he has succeeded in raising the hackles of those smug readers who see themselves as the intelligent, informed elite. Shame on them for being so snookered. Anyone reading the Lou Letters can see that it is obviously intended to appear radically stupid. Good work Lou. Keep them whining.
