Police seek three men in iPhone robberies

ASTORIA — Police were asking for the public’s help in catching three men suspected of stealing iPhones from N train passengers in Astoria.

The robbers struck five times on the N train in Queens in December and January and four times in Manhattan during that period, police said.

The suspects were described as black men in their 20s.

One of the men is about 5-foot-10 and 200 pounds and was seen wearing a white hooded sweatshirt, police said.

The second suspect was about 6 feet tall and 180 pounds and was last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and dark jeans, while the third was also described as 6 feet tall and about 200 pounds, police said. He was last seen wearing a black American Eagle sweatshirt, police said.

In all nine cases, the men swiped iPhones from train passengers before fleeing, police said.

In Queens, the men committed the robberies at 31st Street and 36th Avenue in Astoria as well as 31st Street and 39th Avenue in Astoria, police said.
