REGO PARK -- A 27-year-old man died in a car crash Wednesday after the Ford Explorer he was traveling in struck the median on the Long Island Expressway at the 108th Street exit, according to police.
Emergency workers found Bayside resident Carlos Rivas, who was sitting in the front passenger seat, with severe trauma to his body and transported him to Booth Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, cops said.
Police said they arrested the driver of the Explorer, Flushing resident Ricardo Rivas, 39, who was charged with driving while intoxicated, vehicular manslaughter and criminally negligent homicide.
Three other back seat passengers in the SUV were taken to Elmhurst Hospital in stable condition, according to the NYPD
