One dead in North Shore Towers fire

Fire Department officials found a North Shore Towers resident dead Monday after being called to tackle a fire on the upper floors, the FDNY said.

Authorities received word of a fire on the 30th floor of the Coleridge Tower building at 269-10 Grand Central Parkway. in Little Neck around 12:16 p.m., where they discovered the unidentified body, fire officials said. The blaze was already extinguished by the time they had a arrived, meaning it possibly burned itself out quickly, the FDNY said.

The cause of the fire was unknown and fire marshals were still investigating Monday afternoon, officials said.
