QUEENS VILLAGE — Police arrested a robbery suspect after he led them on a dangerous chase, District Attorney Richard Brown said.
Ravinder Dharamshot and his alleged accomplice, Umair Farooq, were wanted for robbing two gas stations and a deli in Queens, Brown said.
When police officers spotted Dharamshot driving a vehicle that matched a description from the robberies, he allegedly sped off and led police in a high-speed chase before crashing his vehicle into a police car and injuring two officers, Brown said.
Dharamshot allegedly fled the scene and was arrested later that day, the DA said. Farooq, who was allegedly a passenger in the vehicle, was arrested shortly after the crash, according to Brown.
Both were charged with robbery, criminal use of a firearm and possessing an imitation pistol, and Dharamshot was additionally charged with reckless endangerment, Brown said.
