109th Cops of the Month arrest Red Bull suspects

COLLEGE POINT — Two officers from the 109th Precinct received Cop of the Month distinctions for their arrest of alleged Red Bull robbers, police said.

Police Officers Moses Lee and Horacio Cuervo received a call about a robbery in progress at about 4 p.m. March 6 and headed to a gas station near the corner of 130th Street and 20th Avenue in College Point, according to cops.

When they arrived, a clerk at the station said three men entered the store. While one distracted the clerk, two others began stuffing large duffle bags with crates of the energy drink Red Bull, police said. When the clerk confronted the two men, the third suspect reached into his waistband as if retrieving a firearm and shoved the clerk to the ground, according to police.

After the trio fled in a black Dodge Charger, Lee and Cuervo put a description of the vehicle over the radio, but eventually spotted the group themselves at a light near the corner of 20th Avenue and the Whitestone Expressway, according to police.

The officers cuffed the three Brooklyn residents — Sean Duran, 29, with 15 prior arrests; Rayshawn West, 21, with six prior arrests; and Deon Williams, 21, with 24 prior arrests — according to the NYPD.
