OZONE PARK — A city Department of Corrections officer was cuffed early Sunday morning and charged with choking someone, the NYPD said.

Kelvin Rush was arrested within the 106th Precinct, which covers neighborhoods including Ozone Park, South Ozone Park and Howard Beach, just before 4 a.m. Sunday, according to police.

He was charged with strangulation, assault, harassment and criminal obstruction of breathing, the NYPD said.

Rush made an annual salary of more than $100,000 working as a corrections officer in 2011, according to data from See Through New York, a nonpartisan organization that tracks government spending.
