MURRAY HILL — Police have released a photo of the man wanted in connection with a Dec. 22 canine caper.

At about 11:30 a.m., a man walked into the New York Puppy Club, at 149-05 Northern Blvd., and made off with a Yorkshire terrier puppy, according to police, in a crime of petite theft.

The pooch is worth about $900, according to police, which is just shy of the $1,000 threshold that would have knocked the theft up from a misdemeanor charge to a felony.

Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call the 109th Precinct Detective Squad at 718-321-2295.
