JAMAICA — The police were looking for two teenage girls they say allegedly tried to rob a woman of her cellphone inside the Jamaica Center subway station.

Police said the girls struggled with the woman as she was waiting for the elevator at the Parsons Boulevard-Archer Avenue subway station around 12:40 p.m. May 24, but took off empty handed.

The suspects are described as two black girls ages 16 and 18.
