Woodsider dies in Williamsburg car accident: Cops

WOODSIDE — A Woodside man was killed in a car crash Tuesday morning in Williamsburg, police said.

Police responded at 4:30 a.m. to the accident at South 5th Street off the Williamsburg Bridge and found the driver, 30-year-old Peter Aguera unconscious inside a gray 2010 Nissan Altima, the NYPD said.

EMS also arrived at the scene and Aguera was taken to Woodhull Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, according to police.

According to authorities, Aguera was traveling east on the Williamsburg Bridge at Exit 5 when his vehicle struck a metal barrier, then a tree before coming to a halt. The investigation was ongoing and police have notified Aguera’s family.
