An off-duty cop who was at a party in South Jamaica Sunday night was shot in the hand after he stepped into an alleged domestic dispute nearby, police said.

Officer Joseph Koch, who is assigned to Far Rockaway’s 101st Precinct, was leaving a house party on South Road around 10 p.m. when he saw an 11-year-old boy run out of a nearby house shouting for help, police said.

Koch went into the boy’s home with his gun drawn and was allegedly attacked by Jose Bernazard, 40, according to police.

The officer was shot once in his hand and Bernazard was hit in the lower abdomen, police said.

Both were taken to Jamaica Hospital in stable condition. The victim of the domestic assault was also taken to the hospital where she was treated for a cut on her head.
