Rosedale cabbie killed by umbrella eye stabbing: NYPD

ROSEDALE — A Queens cab driver was killed in Brooklyn last week when his passenger allegedly stabbed him in the eye with an umbrella, according to the NYPD.

Police said they found 54-year-old Orji-Ama Uro in the Brownsville neighborhood around 5:30 p.m. with a stab wound to his eye. He was taken to Brookdale Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Shamel Allen, who lives a block away from the intersection where Ama was found, was arrested and charged with manslaughter and criminal possession of a weapon, police said.
