GCP crash snarls westbound traffic near Astoria

Westbound traffic came to a standstill on the Grand Central Parkway near Astoria Wednesday afternoon after a multiple car crash, the FDNY said.

Four people were taken to Elmhurst General Hospital in serious condition and four others suffered minor injuries after the 1:10 p.m. incident near Steinway Street, according to the FDNY.

Traffic was backed up from around the 31st Avenue Exit all the way to LaGuardia.
