Missing Bayside woman’s body found on Gilgo Beach in L.I.

By Bianca Fortis

A body found on Gilgo Beach last week was identified as Natasha Jugo, a Bayside woman who disappeared in March, according to the Suffolk Police Department.

Her body washed ashore on the beach late last Monday and homicide detectives soon identified her as the 31-year-old Yugoslavian woman who had been missing for more than three months.

She was reportedly last seen by a neighbor March 16 at 4:30 p.m. leaving her home wearing pajamas and a bathrobe.

A day later her abandoned car was discovered 30 miles away on Gilgo Beach and her personal belongings were nearby in the sand.

Her body was found floating in the water by beachgoers at around 9:30 p.m. June 24, according to longisland.com.

A representative for the Suffolk County Police Department said the body was taken to the Suffolk County Medical Examiner’s Office to determine a cause of death.

A family member at the home declined to comment.

There were no indications that Jugo’s death was related to 10 other bodies or sets of remains that have been found near Gilgo Beach since 2010. Several of the bodies were identified as prostitutes who had been killed, wrapped in burlap bags and then dumped at the beach by a rumored Long Island serial killer.

There has not yet been any information released linking the discovery of Jugo’s body to the others.
