Flushing purse snatching turns into phone theft: Police

FLUSHING — A late-night attempted purse snatcher ended up pocketing an iPhone instead, police said.A 23-year-old woman was near the corner of Kissena Boulevard and Maple Avenue Jan. 12 at about midnight when a man tried to steal her purse, according to cops.

The woman would not relinquish the bag and fell onto the ground, damaging her phone in the process, police said.

The man then picked up the phone and left the purse, according to cops.
