Child struck, killed by SUV in Ridgewood: Cops

A 7-year-old boy was struck and killed by a car in Ridgewood last night, police said.

According to cops, a 2002 Toyota SUV hit the child while he crossed Myrtle Avenue at Madison Street with his father at about 6:50 p.m. The child, whose name has not been officially released, was taken to Wyckoff Heights Medical center, where he was pronounced dead.

The driver remained at the scene and no criminality was suspected, the NYPD said.
