Today’s news:

Big Pharma will cash in on obesity

The big pharmaceutical companies must be ecstatic now that the American Medical Association has declared obesity a disease.

Now, doctors will just prescribe pills to their patients instead of telling them to eat healthy food and exercise.

Alex from Whitestone says:
Declaring "obesity" a disease is not about big Pharma dummy, it's about doctors being able to talk to their patients and recommend lifestyle choices. Most of these choices are eating choices and don't involve drugs so Pharma is out of the treatment. Previously patients sued their doctors when doctors told them the were obese, etc. Now it is out in the open, and treatments can be recommended. Hopefully it will make a change in our obese population.
