Dead shark found on N train

ROCKAWAY BEACH — A dead dolphin that had washed ashore was discovered on Rockaway Beach Wednesday morning, according to an official from the city Parks Department.

It was found on Beach 115th Street after the park opened.

The Riverhead Foundation for Marine Research and Preservation was working to determine a cause of death of the animal.

In another close-up encounter with marine life, a 3-foot shark was discovered on the N train Wednesday morning.

And MTA spokeswoman said the train’s conductor reported that the shark was aboard the train at about 12:30 a.m. at Queensboro Plaza. The conductor then had the straphangers vacate that car. When the train reached the end of the line at Ditmars Boulevard, an MTA worker removed the shark and disposed of it in the trash.
