Woman robbed of cell in Far Rockaway: Police

FAR ROCKAWAY — The NYPD was hunting for a suspect who allegedly swiped a cellphone from a woman in Far Rockaway Sunday.

The 35-year-old victim had been talking on the phone when a bald Hispanic man knocked the device from her hand and then grabbed it off the ground before fleeing, police said.

Authorities described the suspect as 6 feet tall and 200 pounds with a light complexion. At the time of the robbery, he had been wearing brown shorts, a blue T-shirt and black sneakers, the NYPD said.
