Rochdale man convicted of raping two women: Brown

ROCHDALE — A Rochdale man has been convicted of raping two women in two days, Queens District Attorney Richard Brown said.

A jury convicted Leaman King, 34, of 139th Road, of rape, criminal sexual assault, kidnapping and criminal possession of a weapon, according to the borough’s top prosecutor,

According to trial testimony, the first victim was walking down Springfield Boulevard at about midnight Oct. 29, 2005, when Leaman abducted her, forced her into his vehicle and raped her at gunpoint, Brown said. On the following day, Leaman allegedly found a second victim walking down Eveleth Road in southeast Queens at about 8:30 p.m. and kidnapped and raped her.

King faces up to 130 years in prison.

“The defendant is a violent predator who deserves to spend the rest of his life in prison,” Brown said. “We urge that the Court impose the maximum allowable sentence.”
