Two pedestrians were struck and killed while walking along Queens Boulevard early Monday morning, NYPD officials said.

A driver of a 2014 Chevy Camaro lost control while travelling in the westbound service lane of Queens Boulevard near Van Loon Street, in Elmhurst, just before 7:30 a.m., authorities believe. The 22-year old man allegedly crashed his yellow sports car into a telephone booth, a light post and two parked cars before jumping a curb where he stuck a 59-year-old male and a 41-year-old male, according to the NYPD. A 59-year old man, Man Chit Chen, was pronounced dead at the scene, and 41-year old Mu Wang Lin was taken to Elmhurst Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The driver of the Camaro was taken to Elmhurst Hospital with minor injuries where he was taken into custody, police said

The Queens Boulevard westbound service road was closed to traffic for several hours. The 2014 Camaro was still on the scene several hours later with the front end demolished. The cause of the crash is under investigation.

I don't care what the ethnicity, gender, immigration status, you name it--this type of reckless endangerment in a massive-ton car is atrocious! And so is people like "susan" in the 21st century still making ignorant assumptions are, too--stay holed up in your little shack and don't come out, susan! The rest of the world will evolve without you.

What I don't understand is how the driver was still allowed behind the wheel with outstanding warrants for other infractions. And as a driver, do you really want to be gunning down a local street with your shiny new 2014 sportscar?

May he rot in prison for the next decade. Drivers like him should realize that these actions are not simple mistakes--they kill or can kill innocent people.
