The Q58 has been designated among the slowest buses in New York City in the transit advocacy agency Straphangers Campaign’s annual Pokey Awards.

The Pokey Award for slowest in town went jointly to the M42 and M50, which were cited as slowest at what the Straphangers called a “dreadful crawl averaging 3 to 4 miles an hour. Both are crosstown Manhattan lines.”

Straphangers said the Q58 — which received the same distinction last year — averages 7 miles an hour as it runs between Ridgewood and Flushing-Main Street.

The Q85 was designated as unreliable on its run between Jamaica and Valley Stream in Nassau County. The Straphangers said any bus that has more than 20 percent of its buses bunched together or runs with big gaps in service was unreliable.
