ASTORIA — A University of Florida law school graduate has been convicted of first-degree murder of his former girlfriend inside their Astoria apartment, Queens District Attorney Richard Brown said Wednesday.

Jason Bohn, 35, of 28-25 33rd St., was found guilty in the strangling and beating death and now faces life in prison without the possibility of parole.

According to trial testimony, police were called to Bohn’s apartment June 26, 2012, and discovered Danielle Thomas’ body with bruising and lacerations on her upper body and head.

The medical examiner’s office ruled that the cause of death was blunt trauma to the neck and torso.

Bohn’s deadly assault on Thomas was captured in a cellphone recording received by a friend of hers in what is believed to have been an accidental dialing of the friend’s number, according to trial testimony.

The conviction follows a seven-week trial at Queens Supreme Court. Sentencing is scheduled for April 2.
