By Sarina Trangle

OZONE PARK — Police arrested a 31-year-old Ozone Park man and charged him with running over an officer’s leg while fleeing from cops in Brooklyn March 2, the NYPD said.

The Police Department said officers had stopped Kenny Ortiz because he was allegedly driving erratically near Pitkin and Lincoln avenues during the afternoon of March 2.

As police approached him, Ortiz allegedly attempted to evade them and wound up dragging one of the officers under the ATV for about 190 feet and running over his leg, according to the NYPD.

Police said that officer was brought to a hospital in stable condition and has since been released.

Ortiz was arrested March 7 and charged with attempted murder of a police officer and several other charges, the NYPD said.
