By Sarina Trangle

SOUTH JAMAICA — Police said Friday officers had arrested a 30-year-old South Jamaica man in the slaying of a 22-year-old near Roy Wilkins Park in April 2012.

Nearly two years after police were called to the corner of Ring Place and 118th Avenue, the NYPD said it had identified the victim found slumped behind the driver’s seat of a white 2011 Dodge Charter with a bullet wound in his right torso and made an arrest.

Police said Sydney London, 22, of Springfield Gardens, crashed into an empty, parked SUV after he was shot in the torso April 11, 2012. He was rushed to Jamaica Hospital, where he was pronounced dead on arrival, according to the NYPD.

Late Friday night, police announced officers arrested Sekwan Carter, 30, of South Jamaica, and charged him with second-degree murder and two counts of second-degree criminal possession of a weapon.
