Crossing guard arrested in 100th Precinct: NYPD

ROCKAWAY BEACH — An off-duty school crossing guard was arrested March 12 in the 100th Precinct after police said he failed to hand money and fake cocaine over to authorities.

The Police Department said an undercover officer gave Bernard Pelzer, 58, money and a substance resembling cocaine and the NYPD crossing guard allegedly did not follow protocol and deliver the items to a police precinct, according to cops.

Pelzer was charged with petit larceny, official misconduct, criminal possession of stolen property and criminal possession of a controlled substance, according to the NYPD.
