A Flushing man was killed Friday night after he was hit by two cars while trying to cross the Grand Central Parkway near 31st Drive in East Elmhurst, the NYPD said.

Police said Fidel Vidal Diaz, 31, was attempting to cross the westbound lane of the highway near the 94th Street exit around 11 p.m. when he was struck by a 2005 Ford Mustang. After the first collision, Diaz was then hit by a 2002 Volkswagen traveling the same direction, according to the NYPD.

Emergency crews responded to a 911 call and found Diaz lying in the roadway unresponsive with serious trauma to his body, police said. The Broadway-Flushing resident was pronounced dead on the highway, the NYPD said.

Police said the drivers of both vehicles remained at the scene of the accident and an investigation was ongoing.
