By Rich Bockmann

The search for a gunman who allegedly hit a 13-year-old Brooklyn boy in the eye with a stray bullet earlier this week led investigators to a basement in Jamaica Thursday where police tracked down a 21-year-old they were calling a person of interest.

Gama Droiville, 13, was shot in the eye while he was waiting for the bus with his aunt in the Flatbush section of Brooklyn around noon Monday, according to the NYPD and news reports.

The gunman was allegedly firing at his intended target, 24-year-old Eduardo Dophy, when his bullet hit the teenage boy, several published reports said.

Dophy was hit in the leg and both shooting victims were taken to Kings County Hospital in stable condition, according to police.

By midday Thursday police had identified Brooklyn resident Kareem Potomont, 21, as a person of interest in the shooting and later in the day they tracked him down to a basement in Jamaica and took him into custody for questioning, according to reports.
