Forest Hills slashing may be gang related: NYPD

FOREST HILLS — Police were searching for a suspect they believe slashed an 18-year-old man near 62nd Avenue and Yellowstone Boulevard at 4 p.m. April 9, the NYPD said.

The victim was sent to the hospital with lacerations above his right ear that required stitches, the Police Department said.

He has since been treated and released from the hospital, according to the NYPD.

Police said they were still investigating what spurred the assault, but believe it may have been gang-related.

The NYPD released a sketch of the suspect.
