An elderly couple was taken to the hospital Wednesday after two men forced their way into their Bayside home and assaulted them, the NYPD said.
Police said the two suspects, described only as Hispanic men, were posing as maintenance workers when they broke into the house, at the corner of 15th Avenue and 212th Street, at 2:33 p.m. Wednesday.
The men assaulted an 86-year-old man and his 85-year-old wife, who both lived at the residence, according to police.
Both victims were taken to New York Hospital Queens with bruises to the hands and face but were in stable condition, police said. The NYPD said it had not yet determined if anything was taken from the home.
Police were still searching for both suspects believed to be involved in the incident.
