By Alex Robinson

The city Parks Department will host a festival Sunday at the Unisphere in Flushing Meadows Corona Park to commemorate the 75th and 50th anniversaries of the 1939 and 1964 World’s Fairs.

The festival, set to go on rain or shine, was organized by Parks, Borough President Melinda Katz and state Assemblywoman Margaret Markey (D-Maspeth).

The celebration will start at 1 p.m. with tours of the World’s Fair grounds, memorabilia displays, 50-cent rides on a historic carousel, food and dancing.

Liverpool Shuffle, a Beatles tribute band, will perform at 5:30 p.m. before the Queens Symphony Orchestra is set to take the stage at 6:30 p.m. followed by fireworks at the end of the night.
