HOWARD BEACH — Authorities were called to the Howard Beach A train station Monday morning after police said Mace was sprayed during a passenger argument and bystanders complained it was irritating them, the FDNY and NYPD said,

The Fire Department said it received calls at 9:28 a.m. and dispatched first responders to the train near Coleman Square and 159th Avenue.

By the time FDNY was on scene, the department said the substance seemed to have dissipated.

First responders examined about a dozen people and were still evaluating two more as of 10:15 a.m., according to the FDNY.

Nobody had been brought to the hospital.

The Metropolitan Transportation Authority referred inquiries to the Police Department, which said it believed Mace was released during an argument between two passengers.

No arrests had been made as of 11 a.m., the NYPD said.
