Police arrest Corona man in Bay Terrace break-in

By Kelsey Durham

A Corona man was arrested Wednesday in connection with a home invasion in Bay Terrace earlier this year that left an elderly couple injured, the NYPD said.

Police said Christopher Ramirez, 24, was one of two men who allegedly posed as maintenance workers and broke into a first-floor condo on 15th Avenue around 2:30 p.m. April 23. The homeowners, an 86-year-old man and his 85-year-old wife, were both assaulted.

The NYPD said the man suffered injuries to his head and his wife sustained bruises to her face and body. Both victims were treated at New York Hospital Queens and later released, police said.

Ramirez was charged with robbery, assault and burglary, police said.

The NYPD said it was still investigating who the second man involved in the incident was.
