Cop resuscitated during police softball game

FRESH MEADOWS — An off-duty police officer was resuscitated last week after passing out while playing in the Police Commissioner’s Softball League at Cunningham Park, the NYPD said.

Authorities responded to the park around 5:40 p.m. June 18 after receiving a report of a 51-year-old man with chest pains.

Officers from the 103rd and 107th precincts, along with other off-duty cops who were taking part in the game, were able to resuscitate the man using an automated external defibrillator and CPR.

The man was taken to Jamaica Hospital in stable condition.
