Bayside 7-Eleven sells winning Cash4Life ticket

By Kelsey Durham

A Bayside convenience store has sold the first winning jackpot ticket in a new state lottery game, just 10 days after the $2 game was first unveiled, New York State Lottery said this week.

Lottery officials confirmed Tuesday that the 7-Eleven at the corner of 41st Avenue and Bell Boulevard sold a Cash4Life ticket with the top prize of $1,000 a day for life on June 23.

The winning numbers on the ticket, which the state lottery said was worth a minimum of $7 million, were 5, 16, 21, 33 and 47.

The winner had not yet been identified, but lottery officials said in a statement that they were urging whomever held the ticket to come forward and collect the prize as soon as possible.

Dorjee Lama, an employee of the 7-Eleven that sold the ticket, said he believed it was the first Cash4Life ticket the store had sold since the game was introduced June 13.

“Not many people had been buying them, but they will now,” Lama said.
