Republicans finally waking up

I think U.S. Rep. Eric Cantor’s (R-Virginia) rejection by the hyper, anti-anything Obama faction is good.

The guy was an opportunistic representative of today’s backward-leaning version of the Republican Party. That he was not even regressive enough to satisfy the Tea Partiers may be helpful in making what is left of thinking Republicans take stock of what has happened to their party and vote against their steady downward spiral.

Let us hope for their sake that U.S. Sen. Mitch “No” McConnell (R-Kentucky) enjoys the same fate.

Sometimes that one additional, dark step backward is what is necessary to see the light forward.
