Suspect tried to hold up worker at Sunshine Grocery at gunpoint: Police

JAMAICA — Police were asking for the public’s help in identifying a man who tried to rob a grocery store at gunpoint on Parsons Boulevard.

Authorities said the gunman entered Sunshine Grocery, at 87-60 Parsons Blvd., July 14 at 8 p.m. and demanded money from a store worker.

When the suspect was not able to get any cash, the suspect fled the scene on foot.

Police described him as a black man, 5-foot-11 and weighting 170 pounds.

At the time of the crime, he was wearing blue jeans and a blue jacket.
