SOUTH RICHMOND HILL — A Brooklyn man convicted of shooting two men, one fatally, in a Queens barbershop in 2010 has been sentenced to 40 years to life in prison, Queens District Attorney Richard Brown said.

Kereim Richardson, 34, of 225 Vandalia Ave. in Brooklyn, was convicted in December of second-degree murder, second-degree attempted murder and criminal possession of a weapon for the 2010 shooting inside a barbershop, at 135-02 Liberty Ave. in South Richmond Hill.

According to the DA’s office, Richardson was playing dice with a few friends at the shop on the night of Dec. 29, 2010, when he fatally shot Gary Bowlin in the head and torso while the two men were in the bathroom at the same time.

Richardson was also convicted of the attempted murder of another man he shot in the nose and hip who grabbed him after he left the bathroom and the two started to argue.

Richardson’s sentence was handed down Jan. 6 by Acting Queens Supreme Court Justice James P. Griffin after the defendant was convicted by a jury in December.
