24-year-old man dies in Rosedale accident: NYPD

By Alex Robinson

An accident killed a 24-year-old man and sent five others to the hospital Friday night in Rosedale, police said.

The man, who police did not identify, had been riding a motorcycle on Rockaway Boulevard, when his bike broke down in the right lane, according to the NYPD.

A number of people later met him near the intersection of Rockaway and Brookville boulevards to help him load the motorcycle into the back of a pick up truck.

As they were loading it, a Chevy van hurtled into the back of the truck and struck them, police said. A second car then hit the back of the van.

The man who had been riding the motorcycle was declared dead at the scene. Five others, including the driver of the van, were transported to Jamaica Hospital in stable condition.

Police said the investigation was ongoing.
