Noah’s Ark coming soon to JFK

All travelers aboard, animals included. Noah’s Ark is coming to JFK.

The Ark, slated to open next year at John F. Kennedy International Airport, will transform the Queens site into the world’s first animal terminal.

The new facility will take over the vacant Building 78 and an additional 14.4 acres of adjacent land and it will handle about 70,000 animals per year.

The investment in the 108,650-square-foot main center and the 63,515-square-foot cargo facility is about $50 million.

Known as Ark at JFK, the proposed structure will have a three-day equine quarantine area, dog and cat kenneling and grooming services, lawn space for exercising animals and a veterinary hospital. The facility will also house a rehabilitation center for horses and other large animals.

The Port Authority, which manages JFK, and ARK Development LLC, will announce soon the latest on the project, said a spokeswoman for the Ark. There was no further information available.
