Dead man found hung on LIE overpass: NYPD

MASPETH — Police were investigating the death of a man found hung with a belt on a Long Island Expressway pedestrian overpass Wednesday morning, the NYPD said.

The Police Department said it was alerted at 8:14 a.m. that a male who appeared to be in his 30s was strung up on the Mazeau Street pedestrian walkway, located near 57th Avenue.

He was declared dead when officers arrived, according to the NYPD.

Police said their investigation was ongoing, but they believe he was hung with a belt.
