Howard Beach man and business charged with tax fraud: DA

HOWARD BEACH — A Howard Beach man has been charged with swindling the city and state out of more than $100,000 in tax revenue through his Glendale auto body shop.

According to Queens District Attorney Richard Brown, Alfred D’Andrea, 45, of Howard Beach, allegedly under-reported taxable income by $1,253,767.44 over three years from his Triangle Auto Body business, located at 57-11 79th Ave. in Glendale.

“Tax fraud doesn’t just cheat the city and state out of much-needed revenue, it makes every New Yorker a victim by denying funding for essential public services,” Brown said in a statement.

D’Andrea’s attorney was not immediately available for comment.

Brown said D’Andrea is charged with grand larceny, tax fraud, falsifying business records, offering a false instrument for filing and scheme to defraud. D’Andrea faces up to 15 years in prison if convicted.
